Does the German tax office accept a logbook from the app?
The tax office decides case by case; there is no official approval for logbook apps. Hilea Fahrtenbuch is built on the German wage tax guidelines and the Federal Ministry of Finance letter of March 3, 2022, and lists its rules with sources. Not tax advice.
Can I change a trip later?
Yes, but every change stays visible: old and new value, time and reason. Deleting is only possible as a visible cancellation, and this cannot be switched off. Trips entered late are marked “+n days”.
Does Hilea Fahrtenbuch need internet or an account?
There is no account, and the app sends nothing to the provider. Only the check of your purchases and subscriptions via the store goes online and, if you use it, the time stamp. For that the app sends only a checksum, no trips, places or names.
Which devices does Hilea Fahrtenbuch run on?
At launch on iPhone, iPad and Mac with Apple silicon, and on Android devices via Google Play. On iPhone, the optional automatic mode usually detects trips by itself. Android asks “Start trip?” if you like, as soon as it connects to your car via Bluetooth.
